Mercedes-Benz is preparing to launch the GLC 200 EQ, an entry-level variant of its electric mid-size SUV, priced below €60,000 and offering a range of up to 485 kilometres, according to new information from the Mercedes fan portal JESMB.
The GLC 400 4MATIC EQ, delivering 360 kW and 800 Nm of torque, has been available to order since late October with a starting price of €71,281. Mercedes is now broadening the lineup ahead of customer deliveries.

The entry-level GLC 200 EQ is expected to deliver 230 kW, placing it above the 300 hp mark — a first for an entry-level electric model in the company’s mid-range segment. JESMB reports the rear-wheel-drive version uses the MB.EA-M architecture, said to be derived from the updated EQS’s eATS2.0Large motor system.
The model will be equipped with a 64 kWh LFP battery positioned in the underbody. The use of LFP chemistry is expected to improve durability and cost-efficiency, while the smaller capacity reduces charging time. JESMB said the GLC 200 EQ should recharge from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes. Mercedes is targeting a WLTP range of 460 kilometres, with a “Long Range Edition” expected to reach up to 485 kilometres.

Performance figures have not been formally released, but JESMB estimates a 0–100 km/h time of roughly 6.5 seconds. Mercedes is expected to offer three standard interior displays, with the larger MBUX Superscreen and full-width MBUX Hyperscreen available as paid upgrades even for the base variant.
Pricing for the GLC 200 EQ is projected at around €59,200 before incentives, according to JESMB. With Mercedes’ current five per cent discount for private customers, entry pricing could temporarily drop to €56,240. The company has not yet announced when orders will open but has confirmed that two additional drive versions will join the lineup in 2025.
Future variants on the list include the rear-wheel-drive GLC 250 EQ (260 kW), the GLC 300 4MATIC EQ (310 kW), and the long-range GLC 300+ EQ, expected to deliver 270 kW and a range of up to 735 kilometres.
