The sophisticated future is now increasingly felt at Mercedes-Benz. This is because the German manufacturer has now received a production-worthy certification for its Level 3 semi-autonomous driving system.
Known as the Drive Pilot feature, this system will reportedly only be available for the S-Class and EQS from 17 May at an additional cost of ā¬5,000. However, to get this technology, customers will also have to purchase the Driver Assistance Package Plus for ā¬2,430.
By using this new autonomous feature, Mercedes will offer “automation” which is ready to take over the steering wheel in a much safer and more stable manner. Remarkably, the driver is no longer required to constantly monitor the vehicle, they only need to monitor when the road situation is congested or the road conditions are difficult.

Mercedes explained that this feature can work through LiDAR sensors, high-resolution cameras, radar, to ultrasonic wave sensors that are ready to capture objects every one centimeter. With this device, the car can find out exactly what objects around it are much faster.
