Mercedes-Benz Trucks will expand its electric heavy-duty truck portfolio with new variants of the eActros 600, available for order from autumn 2025, as it phases out production of the earlier eActros 300 and 400 models by the end of this year.
The German truckmaker said it would add flatbed chassis configurations, additional wheelbase options, and new versions with two battery packs instead of the standard three to the eActros 600 range. The move is aimed at broadening use-case flexibility, particularly in the distribution sector. The current eActros 600 comes equipped with three 207 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs as standard.

“All variants of the eActros 600 share a common technology base,” the company said, citing the 800-volt system architecture, newly developed electric axle, and Interactive 2 multimedia cockpit. Production of the new derivatives will take place at the Wörth am Rhein plant starting in late 2025.
At the same time, Mercedes-Benz Trucks confirmed it will end production of its first-generation electric trucks, the eActros 300 and 400, by the end of 2025. These models, introduced in 2021, are based on NMC battery technology, unlike the eActros 600’s LFP batteries, which offer over 95% usable capacity and improved lifecycle characteristics.

Achim Puchert, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, said: “Our goal is to drive the industry’s decarbonization at high speed by electrifying more and more transport applications. The areas of application and thus the needs of our customers for battery-electric trucks are very diverse, especially with regard to payload and range.”
The production setup in Wörth also marks a shift in approach. While the outgoing models were built on the same line as combustion trucks and required separate stations for EV component installation, the eActros 600 is assembled entirely on a unified line with its diesel counterparts, following significant investment in flexible manufacturing.

Mercedes also confirmed that a small series of the new eArocs 400 – revealed at Bauma 2025 – will follow in 2026. Targeted at urban construction, the eArocs 400 will incorporate key components from the eActros 600, including the front battery module and twin LFP battery packs.
