Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA) customer Martin Brower, a leading supply chain solutions provider for global restaurant chains, is ramping up its electric fleet with the addition of ten Volvo VNR Electric vehicles. These electric trucks will facilitate food and beverage deliveries to McDonald’s restaurants across the greater Montreal and Toronto areas.

The expansion follows a successful trial of Volvo’s electric tractor in 2022, where Martin Brower tested the vehicle’s capability on regular routes from its Baie d’Urfé distribution centre to McDonald’s locations in Montreal.

Working closely with Vision Truck Group, a Volvo Trucks Certified Electric Vehicle Dealer, Martin Brower optimized truck configurations using the Electric Performance Generator (EPG) tool to suit specific route demands, including traffic patterns and environmental conditions.

“McDonald’s Canada and Martin Brower’s decision to scale up with ten more Volvo VNR Electric vehicles underscores the reliability and performance of our electric trucks,” stated Matthew Blackman, Managing Director for Canada at Volvo Trucks North America.

Seven of the new electric trucks will operate in the greater Toronto area, serviced by Vision Truck Group, while the remaining three will be stationed at the Baie-D’Urfé centre for deliveries in greater Montreal, supported by Camions Volvo Montreal.
