Mallaghan has introduced what it describes as North America’s first fully electric refrigerated catering truck designed for the aviation sector.
The CT6000E, developed in collaboration with International Motors, was presented at Logan International Airport in Boston during a ceremony attended by Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and other state officials.

“This launch marks a significant milestone for both Mallaghan and the aviation industry as a whole in North America,” said Joe Griffith, Chief Commercial Officer at Mallaghan. “The CT6000E not only reinforces our commitment to innovation and sustainability but also supports our partners in their pursuit of greener, safer, and more efficient (aviation) operations.”
The CT6000E is built on the International eMV chassis, which features a gross vehicle weight rating of 33,000 lbs. It is powered by a direct-drive electric motor delivering 1,737 lb-ft of peak torque and a 210 kWh lithium-ion battery pack providing an estimated range of 135 miles. The vehicle also includes an auxiliary system with AGM 12V batteries that are charged via the main 609V high-voltage system.

Designed for ground support operations, the CT6000E incorporates technology aimed at improving efficiency and safety. Features include an advanced aircraft-controlled approach system (CAS) to minimize aircraft damage, a 360-degree Bird’s Eye camera system with onboard storage, and an integrated telemetry system.
The vehicle will be operated by DO & CO, a premium airline catering provider that serves major carriers such as American Airlines, Delta, Qatar Airways, and Southwest Airlines.
