Loop Global has introduced a new technology that enables electric vehicle charging sessions to begin even when network connectivity is unavailable, targeting a persistent challenge for chargers installed in underground garages, remote locations and areas with unreliable cellular coverage.
The system, called Infinity Link, allows drivers to initiate charging through Loop’s mobile app even when neither the charging station nor the user’s smartphone has an active network connection. The company said the technology is compatible with most Loop chargers already deployed, requiring no hardware retrofit in many cases.

Connectivity constraints have been a recurring issue for EV charging operators, particularly at sites such as subterranean parking structures where cellular signals are weak or unavailable. Loop said Infinity Link is designed to ensure uninterrupted charging access while preserving operational oversight for site hosts.
“We’ve deployed Infinity Link technology at our Los Angeles building and found it to be particularly effective in environments where subterranean parking creates connectivity challenges,” said Brian Nathan, director at MAC Partners. “The system helps ensure reliable access to EV charging even when cellular signal is limited.”

According to Loop, Infinity Link automatically authorises approved users without requiring additional configuration. Chargers activate instantly upon request, and drivers receive charging receipts in real time, even during offline operation. For property managers and operators, Loop’s customer portal continues to provide remote monitoring, allowing visibility into charger status and performance despite temporary connectivity outages.
Nathan added that maintaining insight into charger availability and usage is increasingly important as EV adoption grows, particularly for residential and commercial properties seeking to future-proof their infrastructure.

Loop said Infinity Link also incorporates encrypted communication and fraud detection protocols to safeguard offline transactions. The company provides end-to-end EV charging solutions, including hardware, software and services, and counts clients such as AvalonBay Communities, Reem Mall and AMLI Residential among its customer base.
