Li Auto, renowned for its extended-range luxury SUVs, is stepping into the purely electric realm with its latest offering – the Mega, a futuristic minivan. While minivans are often associated with practicality over style, Li Auto is aiming to change that perception with the Mega, which wouldn’t look out of place in a sci-fi movie set.

The Mega boasts a range of innovative features, starting with its tech-forward interior. It features a large center screen and an innovative heads-up display, similar to the setup found in Li Auto’s L7 and L9 models, providing a modern driving experience.

The rear of the Mega focuses on passenger comfort, replacing the traditional three-row setup with plush, adjustable captain’s chairs in the second row. These seats offer heating, cooling, and a “spa-level” 16-point massage system, along with 95-degree reclining capability and 500 mm of movement, ensuring a comfortable ride for passengers.

Entertainment is a key focus, with a foldable ceiling screen between the first and second rows, as well as a small fold-down table on the back of the passenger seat, creating a luxurious experience for passengers.

The Mega is equipped with a 102.7 kWh CATL Qilin battery, providing an impressive 710 km of range according to the CLTC standard. It’s also touted as the most aerodynamic MPV available, contributing to its exceptional range. Ultra-fast charging capability allows the Mega to recharge around 499 km worth of energy in just 12 minutes.

Despite its impressive features, the Mega comes with a hefty price tag, expected to be under €77,700. However, Li Auto is optimistic about its potential, particularly in the Chinese market where minivans are popular. The company received 10,000 pre-orders within less than 2 hours after the Mega’s unveiling, indicating strong interest in this all-electric minivan offering.
