Li Auto announced that it has installed over 200,000 home charging piles for its owners, underscoring the company’s commitment to meeting the needs of its customers. As of January 31, the company had made 272,475 cumulative deliveries, with more than 70% of owners installing home charging piles.
Li Auto’s EREVs are essentially plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), but they boast a battery range of almost 200 kilometers, longer than many conventional PHEVs. In the first four weeks of February alone, Li Auto vehicles had 15,927 insurance registrations.

The company revealed that the 200,000th Li Auto home charging pile was installed on February 22 in Jiangmen, Guangdong, 340 days after the 100,000th was installed. Li Auto vehicles had traveled a cumulative 6.05 billion kilometers since the first delivery, with 62% of the distance driven purely on electric power.
To cater to the diverse charging needs of its customers, Li Auto has aggregated charging stations from multiple charger operators on its charging map. As of February 22, the map had access to over 40,000 charging stations in 352 cities, containing more than 500,000 charging piles.
While Li Auto has not yet begun building its own brand of charging stations, its management has highlighted the importance of infrastructure development for future all-electric models. In contrast, Li Auto’s local peer NIO is one of the most aggressive Chinese carmakers in building charging infrastructure, with 1,320 battery swap stations and 2,369 charging stations offering 13,925 charging piles in China as of February 28.

NIO’s charging map has access to over 630,000 third-party charging piles. At a recent media event, NIO co-founder and president Qin Lihong revealed that 76% of the power provided by NIO’s charging piles from January 13 to February 5 was used by vehicles of other brands. During this period, BYD vehicles used 17.6% of the power, Tesla vehicles 15.8%, XPeng 4.1%, and Li Auto 3.7%.
