Li Auto said on Monday it has completed construction of its 3,000th supercharging station in China, marking a key infrastructure milestone.
The company announced the achievement on its official Weibo account, stating, “The 3,000th Li Auto supercharging station has been completed, and the nation’s largest supercharging network is ready for the launch of the i8.” According to Li Auto, its supercharging network now covers 258 cities across all 31 provinces in China, with 16,523 charging piles installed nationwide.
The Li i8, features a 97.8-kWh ternary lithium battery and supports 5C ultra-fast charging. The company says the vehicle can add 500 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes and offers a CLTC range of up to 720 kilometers on a full charge.
Pre-orders for the six-seat SUV opened on July 17, with an estimated price range of RMB 350,000 to RMB 400,000 ($48,770 to $55,750). Deliveries are expected to begin in late August.
The Li i8 is the automaker’s second battery electric vehicle (BEV), following the launch of the Li Mega MPV earlier this year. Li Auto has emphasized the importance of charging infrastructure to support its expansion into the BEV market and had previously pledged to surpass 2,500 supercharging stations by the time the i8 debuted.
