Li Auto has revealed an ambitious plan to expand its supercharging station network this year, although the number falls short of earlier media reports.
In a Weibo interaction today, Li Auto stated, “Supercharging station network layout of 2,000 planned for 2024, stay tuned.”
The company’s statement was somewhat ambiguous in Chinese, leaving it unclear whether they intend to add 2,000 new supercharging stations this year or reach a total of 2,000 by year-end.

However, during an analyst call following the fourth-quarter earnings announcement, Li Auto’s management clarified that their goal is to have a total of 2,000 supercharging stations operational by the end of the year.
As of February 20, Li Auto had 343 supercharging stations across China, spanning 114 cities.
During the Shanghai auto show on April 18, 2023, Li Auto announced its aim to have 3,000 charging stations by 2025, covering 90 percent of China’s highway mileage and major cities.

The report also mentioned Li Auto’s goal of exceeding 4,000 supercharging stations by 2024, covering 90 percent of China’s first-, second-, and third-tier cities, with an 11 percent market share.
