Lexus Debuts High-Performance Electric Crossover RZ Sport Concept at 2023 Tokyo Auto Salon

The Lexus RZ Sport Concept, a modified version of the road-going RZ, is on display at the Tokyo Auto Salon in a white color called Hakugin with blue accents. Developed under the guidance of racing driver Masahiro Sasaki, the concept features unique body panels such as a matte black grille with carbon fiber panels, a carbon fiber hood with large air vents, flared wheel arches and aerodynamic louvers to enhance its performance and aggressive appearance.

The Lexus RZ Sport Concept has further modifications such as 21-inch Volk Racing wheels with 295/35 tires, a lowered ride height of 35 millimeters, matte black rocker panels, flared wheel arches, a matte black front lip spoiler, a carbon fiber wing on the roof, a carbon fiber wing on the decklid, and a unique gloss black diffuser.

The interior of the Lexus RZ Sport Concept is not currently on display at the Auto Salon. However, the company has announced that it features bucket seats for the driver and front passenger. The concept is powered by a pair of electric motors, one in the front and one in the back, producing a total of 402 horsepower (300 kW), an increase from the standard RZ 450e. Torque figures have not yet been released by Lexus.

The Lexus RZ Sport Concept is a visually striking vehicle with a unique Japanese design and performance enhancements. Its bold style sets it apart from other vehicles, however, some may wish that Lexus had devoted more attention to upgrading the power units as 400 horsepower is always desirable. Nevertheless, the current power output is noteworthy.
