Leapmotor’s move to lower its prices and update its existing models comes as it faces stiff competition in the electric vehicle market. The company originally focused on BEV models but expanded its lineup to include EREV models in 2022 to tap into the growing market for plug-in hybrids.

In 2023, Leapmotor delivered a total of 144,155 vehicles, marking a significant increase of 29.67% compared to the previous year. However, in February 2024, the company experienced a slight downturn in deliveries, with 6,566 vehicles sold, a 46.52% decrease from January, attributed in part to the disruption caused by the Chinese New Year holiday.
