The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is set to integrate 10 Tesla Cybertrucks into its patrol and SWAT fleets after receiving the electric vehicles as a donation from an anonymous supporter, Sheriff Kelvin McMahill announced.
“The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is excited to announce that we will be adding 10 Tesla Cybertrucks to our fleet! These cutting-edge vehicles will be customized for LVMPD patrol and SWAT, helping our officers protect and serve with the latest technology,” McMahill said during Metroās 2025 State of the Department address.

McMahill highlighted the Cybertruck’s durability, including its bullet-resistant exterior, and noted that the addition would not impact the departmentās budget. In a social media post, he described the vehicle as “badass,” sharing a rendering of a modified Cybertruck in police livery.
The donorās identity remains undisclosed. Meanwhile, Tesla has been working to boost Cybertruck sales amid reports of accumulating inventory, offering incentives such as free wraps, discounts, and reduced lease rates.

The Cybertrucks will join LVMPDās existing fleet, which includes semi-autonomous drones used in shot-spotting technology to aid in suspect tracking.
