Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini has confirmed that the first electric vehicle produced by Lamborghini will hit the market in 2027 or 2028.
Lamborghini has big plans for the next ten years. They will introduce four models with details of two super sports cars and two “more versatile vehicles,”.
In an interview with Yahoo Finance, Winkelmann added that the latest Lamborghini car is a plug-in hybrid before an all-electric model lands. He also hopes that synthetic fuels can extend the life of internal combustion engines.
Winkelmann did not give an idea what Lamborghini’s first electric vehicle would look like. Winkelmann added that 2021 is on track to be a record year for the Italian automaker: “Each month is better than the previous month. Every month we sell more cars than we can deliver… Overall in 2021, it will be a record year, both in terms of sales and in terms of financial numbers. So we are very happy about that. And we’re looking forward to 2022.”
