Kia has begun taking orders in Germany for the PV5 Passenger, its first electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) built on the company’s new PBV platform. With seating for five and up to 400 km of WLTP range, the all-electric model is aimed at both private drivers and commercial customers.

The PV5 Passenger is also the first model to use Kia’s next-generation E-GMP.S architecture, an evolution of the E-GMP platform, tailored for scalable electrified vehicle solutions. The German version starts at €38,290, with deliveries expected to begin in November 2025. The PV5 Cargo variant, already available since late May, starts at around €33,000.

“The PV5 is designed to meet the demands of both private and business users, offering smart technology, generous space, and versatile functionality,” Kia said in a statement.

Order books for the PV5 Passenger opened earlier in the UK and France. In France, prices begin at €39,550, with deliveries expected in October 2025, while the larger battery version starts at €43,550. In the UK, the PV5 Passenger is priced from £32,995 and deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025. The Cargo variant starts just below £28,000 in the UK market.

Both Passenger and Cargo versions offer two battery choices: a 51.5 kWh pack with up to 288 km of range and a 71.2 kWh option offering up to 400 km. Kia says charging from 10% to 80% can be completed in just 30 minutes under optimal conditions.

Measuring 4.70 meters in length, the PV5 features electric sliding doors on both sides, low entry sills, and a flat-floor design for easy access and comfort. The boot volume can expand up to 2,300 litres, and the vehicle has a towing capacity of up to 1.5 tonnes—figures that stand out in its segment.

Three trim levels—Essential, Plus, and Elite—are available. Even the base model includes LED headlamps, a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen running Android Automotive OS, adaptive cruise control, and seven airbags. Higher trims add features such as heated and ventilated seats, 360-degree cameras, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, and a digital key for smartphones and smartwatches.

All PV5 models are equipped with over-the-air update functionality and full smartphone integration, with Kia’s connected services allowing the installation of custom apps. The platform also prepares the vehicle for future vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and vehicle-to-home (V2H) capabilities.
