Kempower Ships First Batch of US-Made EV Chargers to Canada

Kempower North America has successfully concluded its initial shipment of newly produced EV charging solutions from the United States to Alberta, Canada. The dispatched solution is designed to supply power to 6 Kempower Satellites, each equipped to dynamically dispense up to 300KW per plug.

Kempower, with manufacturing facilities in Durham, North Carolina, and Lahti, Finland, specializes in NEVI-compliant DC fast charging solutions catering to a diverse range of electric vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, boats, and industrial machines.

Although the official certification for production in the United States was granted in November, this marks the second delivery to Canada. In September of the preceding year, Kempower supplied its ‘Satellite’ charging system to Electric Circuit in Quebec. Additionally, efforts are underway to bolster production capabilities in Europe, with the announcement of a second factory in Norway during the previous summer.

Pascal Flambard, Business Development Manager at Kempower, emphasized the global shift towards green transportation infrastructure, particularly the significance of DC-FC EV charging satellites. Flambard noted, “Even in an area that’s home to the fourth-largest oil reserves in the world; it’s clear that green transportation, particularly an infrastructure of DC-FC EV charging satellites, will no longer be optional.” The recent shipment was negotiated with Canadian partners ChargeStop and EVLution.
