JSW Green Mobility has invested in Indian electric fleet operator Lithium Urban Technologies, strengthening its presence in the country’s growing electric mobility sector.

While financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, the investment is expected to support Lithium Urban’s plans to significantly expand its electric vehicle fleet, charging infrastructure, and technology platform.

Expansion Plans for Enterprise EV Fleets

Founded in 2015, Lithium Urban provides end-to-end electric mobility services for enterprise customers across India.

The company currently operates more than 3,000 electric vehicles and approximately 1,300 charging points, serving over 100 corporate clients through its managed fleet platform.

Following the investment, Lithium Urban aims to triple the size of its business and create between 12,000 and 15,000 jobs as it expands into additional markets.

The company also plans to enhance its digital mobility platform while increasing its physical fleet and charging network.

Supporting India’s Clean Mobility Transition

According to Fortune India, Parth Jindal, Director of JSW Group, said India’s transportation sector is undergoing rapid transformation.

“India’s mobility landscape is undergoing a structural transformation driven by rapid urbanisation, electrification and the growing scale of digital commerce.”

He added:

“We believe the future will be shaped by integrated, technology-led mobility platforms that can deliver reliability, operational efficiency and scale. Lithium has built a differentiated business with strong execution capabilities and high-quality infrastructure. We are excited to partner with Lithium Urban as it accelerates growth and helps shape the future of clean mobility in India.”

Focus on Technology and Infrastructure

Don Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of Lithium Urban Technologies, said the partnership will support the company’s long-term electrification strategy.

“The opportunity ahead is not simply to replace vehicles, but to build the infrastructure, operating systems and technology capabilities required to make electrification work at scale.”

He added:

“Their partnership will help us accelerate electric fleet deployment, expand charging infrastructure and continue strengthening the technology capabilities that underpin our platform.”

The investment gives JSW Green Mobility a presence in enterprise fleet management, EV charging infrastructure, and mobility software as India’s commercial electric vehicle market continues to expand.
