Jean Eric Vergne will occupy the pole position in the Jakarta 2022 Formula E race after winning the qualifying session.
The Jakarta 2022 Formula E qualification will take place at 10.40 WIB starting with the drivers appearing in the first 12 minutes of the session. In this initial session, the drivers were divided into two groups, each consisting of 11 drivers.
The determination of the filler in Group A and Group B is based on the ranking of the drivers in the standings. Racers with odd rankings will enter Group A, the rest will enter Group B.
From that session emerged the four fastest drivers from each group who were then pitted into the quarter-finals. Other drivers who do not enter the quarter-finals will occupy starting positions ninth to 22, according to the time recorded in the group session.
Stoffel Vandoorne, Jean Eric Vergne, Jake Dennis, and Sebastien Buemi are the four fastest drivers from Group A. While the four fastest drivers in Group B are Antonio Felix Da Costa, Edoardo Mortara, Pascal Wehrlein, and Mitch Evans.
Vandoorne, who topped Group A, had to admit the superiority of Evans, who previously ranked fourth in Group B. Meanwhile, in the second quarter-final duel, Wehrlein defeated Vergne.
Furthermore, in the third duel met Dennis and Mortara. As a result, Mortara qualified for the semifinals. In the last quarter-final duel, Da Costa beat Buemi.
In the qualifying semifinals, Evans met Vergne and Mortara had a duel with Da Costa.
Vergne’s win over Evans saw the Frenchman meet Da Costa, who beat Mortara, in the qualifying final.
The duel among DS Techeetah racers in the top qualifying match was won by Vergne. In addition to occupying the pole position, Vergne also got an additional three points for winning in qualifying.
