As the number of automotive startups continues to rise, it can be challenging to stand out in an overcrowded market. However, Izera, a Polish electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, is taking steps to differentiate itself through design by partnering with Pininfarina, an Italian design firm known for its striking automotive exteriors.
The collaboration, which began in November 2022, will see the two companies work together on a range of electric vehicles, including a hatchback, station wagon, and SUV. While Pininfarina will handle the exterior design, the company will also be responsible for the interior design and human-machine interface.

Izera’s Chief Designer, Tadeusz Jelec, explained that the collaboration aims to “leverage the stylistic DNA we showcased during the public presentation of Izera prototypes in 2020, and update the brand’s unique stylistic language so that it accommodates the parameters of the platform on which our vehicles are going to be built.” Jelec is confident that the resulting models will appeal to European customers.
All three vehicles will be electric and based on Geely’s SEA platform, thanks to a partnership announced in 2022. While few details are currently available, the crossover will be the first model to arrive, followed by the hatchback and C-segment wagon.
ElectroMobility Poland, a state-backed company, plans to build the vehicles at a new factory in Jaworzno, with construction scheduled to begin in early 2024. The facility is expected to employ around 2,400 people, and the first vehicles are set to roll off the assembly line in late 2025.

“The opportunity to work with such an accomplished and experienced partner as Pininfarina, boasting unique competences, is another milestone on the road to serial production of Izera,” said Łukasz Maliczenko, Head of Technical Product Development at ElectroMobility Poland. He added, “As a new brand, we have to focus on our advantages in a very competitive market, and the timeless and attractive design will be one of the distinguishing features of Izera.”
By partnering with Pininfarina, Izera hopes to create electric vehicles with not only outstanding performance but also visually stunning designs that will attract European customers.
