Iveco Bus has secured a contract from Campania Mobility Infrastructure and Networks Agency (Acamir) to supply 87 eDaily electric school minibuses, as the Italian region moves to modernize student transport and promote sustainable mobility across urban and rural areas.

The new eDaily minibuses, each under eight metres in length, will operate on extra-urban and interurban routes, serving all five provinces of Campania. The project aims to lower emissions and improve comfort and safety for students, with a particular focus on enhancing accessibility in inland and smaller municipalities where transport links remain limited.

Built on Iveco’s established Daily platform, the eDaily minibuses are designed and manufactured in Italy. Each vehicle is equipped with USB charging ports, air conditioning, destination displays, a lift ramp, and dedicated space for passengers with reduced mobility. The buses also feature advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), video surveillance, GPS tracking connected to a central operations hub, and motion sensors with an integrated emergency alert system.

“We are proud to contribute to the modernisation of student transport in the Campania region with a fleet of eDaily school minibuses,” said Giorgio Zino, Head of Iveco Bus Commercial Operations in Europe. “Designed and manufactured in Italy, these vehicles combine safety, sustainability and comfort. This project represents a major step towards zero-emission mobility, offering safer and more environmentally friendly transport for the region’s youth.”

The contract with Acamir forms part of a broader regional initiative to upgrade school transport infrastructure and advance zero-emission public mobility. With the delivery of these 87 electric minibuses, Campania is expected to become one of the first Italian regions to operate a fully electric school transport programme of this scale.
