Isuzu Motors has launched its electric pickup, the Isuzu D-Max EV, in Thailand, marking the model’s expansion beyond Europe as part of its global rollout strategy.
The debut took place at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2026 on March 23, where the company presented the vehicle in a single, fully equipped double-cab variant priced at 1.591 million baht (around €42,000).
The D-Max EV features an all-wheel-drive system powered by dual electric motors. The front motor delivers 43 kW and 108 Nm of torque, while the rear motor—serving as the primary drive unit—produces 97 kW and 217 Nm. Combined, the system generates 140 kW of power and 325 Nm of torque, supported by a 66.9 kWh battery pack.
Charging options include AC charging at up to 11 kW and DC fast charging at up to 50 kW, with a 20–80% charge taking approximately 60 minutes. The pickup offers a driving range of up to 331 kilometres under the NEDC testing cycle.
Dimensionally, the electric pickup measures 5.3 metres in length with a 3.12-metre wheelbase and provides a one-tonne payload capacity alongside a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes. Unlike the combustion-powered D-Max, which uses a leaf-spring rear suspension, the EV adopts a De Dion setup aimed at improving ride comfort and handling.
Production of the D-Max EV takes place at Isuzu’s Samrong plant in Samut Prakan, which will supply both domestic and export markets. The company has previously confirmed plans to introduce the model in additional regions, including the Philippines, following earlier launches in Europe such as the United Kingdom.
The D-Max EV is based on the third-generation D-Max platform and retains a design largely similar to its internal combustion counterpart, with minor visual differences such as blue accents and a closed front grille.
