Hyundai’s Ioniq 6 has been named the highest-rated mass-market battery electric vehicle (BEV) in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Ownership Study.

The study, which evaluates consumer satisfaction based on real-world ownership experiences, considers factors such as range, cost of ownership, quality, and reliability.

The Ioniq 6 moved up from third place in the previous year’s rankings and scored more than 26 points above the segment average. Hyundai’s sedan offers an estimated range of up to 342 miles per charge in its SE RWD trim and supports fast charging, with the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 18 minutes at a 350-kW station.

Yuval Steiman, director of eco-mobility and research at Hyundai Motor North America, said the recognition reflects the Ioniq 6’s strong performance in key areas and highlights Hyundai’s commitment to enhancing the EV ownership experience. Brent Gruber, executive director of J.D. Power’s EV practice, noted that the model performed particularly well in range, cost of ownership, and reliability.

Hyundai’s Ioniq 6 features an aerodynamic design aimed at improving efficiency and incorporates an 800-volt charging system to support high-speed charging.

The vehicle also includes an infotainment system and Hyundai SmartSense safety features. Hyundai Motor America operates in several U.S. locations, including California, Alabama, and Georgia, as part of its efforts to expand its EV lineup.
