Hyundai’s Ioniq 5, a top-selling electric SUV, is gaining traction in the US market with attractive lease incentives, challenging the affordability of traditional gasoline vehicles. With over 34,000 units delivered last year, the Ioniq 5 secured its position as the sixth best-selling EV in the country.
Sales momentum for the 2024 model has continued to climb in 2024, following record-breaking performances in March and May. Nearly 15,000 units have been sold in the first five months of the year, highlighting its growing appeal among consumers.
New lease incentives have made the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 even more competitive in pricing compared to America’s cheapest car, the 2024 Nissan Versa, which starts at $17,820. According to industry sources, the Versa leases for approximately $381 per month for 36 months with $0 down.
In contrast, the Ioniq 5 SEL RWD, boasting a range of up to 303 miles, offers a lease deal at $229 per month for 24 months with $3,499 due at signing. This calculates to an effective cost of $375 per month, undercutting the Versa by $6 monthly.
