Hyena Unveils Versatile UniDrive 70 Mid-Drive Unit for E-Bikes

Hyena has introduced its latest offering, the UniDrive 70 mid-drive unit, signaling a significant addition to its product lineup. Unlike competitors who focus solely on individual components, hyena continues its tradition of providing comprehensive e-bike systems, encompassing the motor, batteries, and other essential components.

The e-bike market is expansive and varied, with a multitude of motor and battery manufacturers catering to different segments. hyena distinguishes itself by targeting bicycle manufacturers, positioning itself as a key supplier in the industry.

The UniDrive 70 is designed with versatility in mind, catering to a wide range of e-bikes, including lightweight e-mountain bikes, city e-bikes, and trekking bikes. Key selling points of the UniDrive 70 include its low weight and high power output. hyena boasts a torque rating of 70 Nm and a weight of just 2.4 kg for the unit.

As is customary for mid-mounted drives, the e-bike’s power output is regulated based on the torque applied. The UniDrive 70 measures torque at both pedals, promising finely tuned and dynamic assistance to riders.

In addition to the UniDrive 70, hyena offers a comprehensive system for creating e-bikes, which includes the BS-B540+, BS-A500, and BE-B180 models, each equipped with two batteries and a range extender. Various displays and control units are available, offering different levels of functionality to suit diverse user preferences.

A smartphone app will complement the system, serving as a large display for detailed information, while the hyena service tool will provide workshops with remote diagnostics capabilities.
