Hydrogen Vehicle Systems (HVS), the UK’s pioneering Hydrogen Fuel Cell truck OEM, has forged a partnership with Explore Plant & Transport Solutions (Explore) to supply 30 HVS hydrogen electric tractor units for integration into Explore’s fleet. The agreement includes comprehensive support services to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of the vehicles.

Under the terms of the Partnership Agreement, Explore will benefit from a service and maintenance plan, full training on the safe use of hydrogen, refueling and driver training, and a dedicated hydrogen fueling infrastructure tailored to their operational requirements.

Established in 2015, Explore specializes in providing transport and plant hire services to a wide range of industry sectors, including aerospace, construction, rail, and nuclear. As one of the UK’s fastest-growing haulage and plant hire businesses, Explore’s collaboration with HVS marks a significant step towards adopting sustainable transportation solutions.

The HVS powertrain solution is purpose-built as a native Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV), offering a sustainable alternative to traditional diesel vehicles. With HVS’ sales projections indicating that by 2030, the new fleet of hydrogen HGVs in the UK could prevent more CO2 and noxious air emissions than the reported annual emissions of Heathrow airport, the partnership represents a substantial contribution to environmental sustainability.
