Berlin-based e-mobility specialist Hubject has entered a strategic partnership with U.S. charging software provider Flipturn to connect fleet-focused charging infrastructure with public charging networks across North America.
Under the agreement, Flipturn’s charging management platform will be integrated into Hubject’s roaming platform, Intercharge, allowing commercial fleets to access public charging stations as an extension of their private depot infrastructure. The move is aimed at addressing one of the key operational challenges for logistics and service fleets transitioning to electric vehicles: seamless charging beyond the depot.

Flipturn’s platform is used by Fortune 500 companies and other large fleet operators, as well as by commercial property owners and multi-family residential buildings, to manage and optimise charging operations. Through the partnership, Flipturn will connect to Intercharge as a charge point operator using the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol, gaining access to Hubject’s global roaming network.
“Flipturn’s platform is designed to help all operators get the most out of their chargers, from fleet to multifamily to workplace charging,” said Max Alway-Townsend, head of business operations at Flipturn. “Through this partnership with Hubject, we extend that value far beyond a single site—simplifying charging for drivers via roaming, while continuing to empower our customers with the same tools they rely on at private depots.”

The integration enables automated protocol bridging between backend systems and multiple e-mobility service providers, allowing for real-time authentication, session management and billing across different charging networks. For fleet operators, this means drivers can use public chargers with the same access and payment processes as at company-owned depots, while fleet managers retain a consolidated view of energy costs and vehicle utilisation.
For Hubject, the partnership strengthens its presence in the North American market and aligns with its strategy to reduce friction in EV charging for commercial users. “We are excited to collaborate with Flipturn with a unified and reliable charging experience,” said Trishan Peruma, chief executive of Hubject North America. “This integration supports our commitment to removing barriers to entry for electrification, ensuring that public charging is as accessible and frictionless for commercial vehicles as it is for passenger cars.”

The companies said the collaboration demonstrates how roaming platforms can support the specific needs of business-to-business fleet operators, as electrification expands beyond passenger cars into logistics, services and commercial transport.
