Hubject and Localiser have formed a strategic data partnership aimed at improving the planning and operation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Hubject will provide Localiser with charging-station location and usage data from its international network, allowing charge point operators, municipalities and investors to make more detailed assessments of potential and existing sites.
Hubject Provides Charging Network Data
Under the partnership, Hubject will provide Berlin-based Localiser with point-of-interest data and real-world usage information from charging stations connected to its network.

Hubject said its network covers more than 1.1 million charge points across more than 75 countries.
Localiser will integrate the data into its platform to evaluate prospective charging locations and analyse the performance of existing infrastructure.
The additional information will complement data already used by Localiser, including population, traffic, points of interest and competing charging locations. The company uses these inputs to estimate electricity demand and charging-station utilisation.
Real-World Usage Supports Site Selection
Localiser conducts more than 35,000 charging-site evaluations each month, according to the company.
The integration of Hubject’s network data is intended to add actual charging behaviour to the planning process. Operators and investors can compare proposed sites with usage patterns recorded at comparable charging locations rather than relying primarily on forecasts.
“Charging infrastructure only serves drivers if it’s built where it’s actually needed,” said Christian Hahn, CEO of Hubject.
The companies expect the additional data to provide a more detailed basis for decisions about where new charging stations should be developed.

Data Also Used to Optimise Existing Chargers
The partnership will also cover charging locations that are already operational.
Localiser plans to incorporate Hubject’s data into dashboards and reports that allow operators to monitor market developments and compare the utilisation of their own charging points with aggregated network data.
This benchmarking capability is intended to help charging operators identify changes in market demand and evaluate how individual sites perform against broader network trends.
For charging operators, the focus is therefore shifting beyond the deployment of additional hardware toward improving the utilisation and economic performance of existing infrastructure.

Partnership Targets More Efficient Charging Networks
Oliver Arnhold, CEO of Localiser, said the charging sector needs to increasingly focus on operational optimisation alongside infrastructure planning.
“The charging industry must continue to professionalise, with CPOs expanding their focus from planning alone towards optimising operations,” said Oliver Arnhold, CEO of Localiser.
The companies describe the agreement as the first stage of a broader collaboration. By combining charging-network usage data with location analytics, Hubject and Localiser aim to improve the economic performance of charging infrastructure and support further expansion of public EV charging networks across Europe.
