In a joint venture between tech giant Huawei and automotive manufacturer Seres, the Aito M9, a flagship electric SUV, made its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show, promising a compelling combination of advanced technology, powerful performance, and attractive pricing.

The Aito M9 aims to capture the interest of potential buyers with its competitive pricing strategy. During the presale period, customers can reserve the cutting-edge SUV with a down payment of RMB 5,000 (€652). Early reservations come with a substantial €1,300 discount on the estimated final purchase price, ranging between RMB 500,000 and RMB 600,000 (€65,000 to €75,000). Additionally, customers placing orders will receive special privileges, including an exclusive opportunity to visit the manufacturing factory of the Aito M9.

Anticipation for the Aito M9 is evident, as manufacturers reported over 20,000 presale orders within a short period, starting from September 25th. The official sales launch is scheduled for the coming month.

As a full-sized SUV, the Aito M9 boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 5,230 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, with a substantial wheelbase of 3,110 mm. Equipped with 265/40 R22 and 285/40 R22 tires, the SUV emphasizes both size and style.

Offering an electric-only version and a range extender (EREV) variant, the electric version utilizes Huawei technology with a dual-motor layout. The 97.682 kWh ternary battery pack from CATL powers the SUV, providing an impressive 630 km range on a single charge.

The EREV version, equipped with a 1.5T engine and two electric motors, offers a pure electric range of up to 175 km. The partnership between Huawei and Seres has resulted in a successful collaboration, leveraging Huawei’s expertise in electric motors, chips, sensors, and other critical components. The Aito M9 follows the previous success of the M5 and M7 SUV models in the Chinese market. The recent popularity of the Aito M7 facelift, accumulating over 40,000 orders shortly after its launch, underscores the success of the ongoing collaboration.
