Huawei and Chery’s collaborative electric vehicle (EV) brand, Luxeed, is gearing up for a significant milestone as it prepares to unveil its inaugural model, the Luxeed S7. The official launch event is scheduled for November 9, coinciding with the release of Harmony intelligent mobility. Furthermore, the Luxeed S7 will be made available for pre-sale, according to a recent announcement by the official account for Harmony intelligent mobility on Weibo.

While specific details about the Luxeed S7 were not disclosed in the announcement, Luxeed shared four images of the upcoming sedan, offering a glimpse of its exterior design and features.

Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei’s intelligent vehicle solutions business unit, also shared the Weibo announcement, expressing excitement about the Luxeed S7’s impending debut. He mentioned that the new model is expected to deliver advancements in intelligence, safety, comfort, and performance.

The Luxeed S7 represents a significant expansion of Huawei’s automotive portfolio, as it marks the brand’s first foray into sedan production through its partnership with Chery. Notably, Huawei’s previous collaborations with local automakers focused on SUV models, including the Aito M-series.

Luxeed, a joint venture between Huawei and Chery, was established with the vision of creating an electrified automotive brand comparable to established manufacturers like BMW.

In a related development, the Luxeed S7 was included in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s catalog of approved models for public comment. This inclusion underscores the vehicle’s compliance with relevant regulations for sale in China.

The Luxeed S7 boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 4,971 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, and 1,474 mm in height, with a wheelbase spanning 2,950 mm. The sedan will be available in both single-motor and dual-motor variants, with Huawei serving as the motor supplier. It’s expected to achieve a top speed of 210 km/h.

Furthermore, Huawei has positioned the Luxeed S7 as a strong competitor in the EV market, asserting that it will outperform Tesla’s Model S in various specifications. This move underscores the brand’s commitment to innovation and market competitiveness.

With the impending debut of the Luxeed S7, Huawei and Chery are poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle sector, furthering the development of cutting-edge EV technology and offerings.
