Huawei and Chery have joined forces to develop the Luxeed R7, the latest addition to the Luxeed brand and the first coupe SUV under Huawei’s HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business. Richard Yu, Huawei’s managing director and chairman of the intelligent vehicle solutions business unit, made the announcement on Weibo, highlighting the Luxeed R7 as a significant step for HIMA.
“The Luxeed R7 embodies our commitment to innovation and revolution in the automotive industry,” said Yu. “Its sleek design and advanced features, coupled with Huawei’s smart technologies, set a new standard for luxury and excellence in the era of smart mobility.”
The name “Luxeed R7” signifies “Revolution,” symbolizing the vehicle’s aim to bring breakthrough and disruption to the market. The coupe SUV design promises to offer a blend of sportiness and luxury, with an interior space that promises to exceed expectations.
The Luxeed brand, a joint venture between Huawei and Chery, made its debut with the Luxeed S7 sedan in November 2023. The success of the Luxeed S7, coupled with the upcoming launch of the Luxeed R7, solidifies Huawei’s position in the automotive industry.
HIMA, which also includes brands like Aito and Stelato, has seen significant growth in recent months. Models like the Aito M5, Aito M7, Aito M9, and Luxeed S7 have contributed to the alliance’s success, with over 30,000 units delivered in May alone. During the recent Dragon Boat Festival holiday, HIMA received over 7,000 orders, indicating strong consumer interest in its lineup.
The Luxeed R7 is poised to redefine the coupe SUV segment, offering consumers a compelling choice in the evolving landscape of smart mobility. With its blend of cutting-edge technology and innovative design, the Luxeed R7 represents a new chapter in Huawei’s journey towards intelligent and sustainable transportation solutions.
