Honda has sold more Prologue electric SUVs in 2025 than it did throughout the previous year, as steep discounts of up to $20,000 drive strong demand in the United States.

Although American Honda’s overall sales declined 2% year-on-year in the third quarter to 358,848 units, higher demand for electric and hybrid vehicles helped offset weaker performance in other segments.

The company said its electrified lineup, including hybrid versions of the CR-V, Accord, and Civic, contributed to a 4.1% increase in Honda brand sales so far this year.

The Prologue recorded its best month yet in September with over 4,500 deliveries, bringing total sales in 2025 to 36,553 units — exceeding the roughly 33,000 sold in all of 2024.

The surge came as the federal EV tax credit expired at the end of September and Honda introduced additional incentives, including financing bonuses and regional trade-in offers that collectively reduced prices by more than $20,000 in some states.

Honda’s latest lease campaign, running through November 3, offers up to $16,550 in lease cash across most U.S. regions. The company is also preparing to launch the 2026 Prologue, which is expected to come with lease or finance incentives of up to $9,000 through Honda Financial Services, according to a dealer notice cited by CarsDirect.
