Tesla has extended the driving range of several Model 3 variants in Europe following the adoption of new, higher-density battery cells supplied by South Korea’s LG Energy.

The update follows a similar enhancement in China last month, where Tesla introduced LG’s new 5M battery cell in locally produced Model 3 vehicles.

The improved cells offer higher energy density, allowing the vehicles to achieve longer driving ranges without major design changes to the battery pack.

According to Tesla’s website, the European-market Model 3 Long Range RWD can now travel up to 750 km (466 miles) on the WLTP cycle. The Long Range AWD version has been increased to 660 km (410 miles), while the Performance variant now reaches 571 km (355 miles).

In addition to the upgraded battery, the updated Model 3 includes a front bumper camera and the return of traditional turn signal stalks, a feature removed during the vehicle’s 2024 refresh.

The improvements align with Tesla’s ongoing strategy to refine efficiency and usability through incremental updates across its lineup.
