Honda released their first electric SUV, the Honda Prologue, which is much larger than the Honda CR-V. Interestingly, the car is actually made based on an electric car platform made by a car manufacturer from the United States, General Motors.

In terms of dimensions and luxury, the Honda Prologue will be the most expensive and large SUV made by the Japanese car manufacturer. According to the context, the dimensions of the Honda Prologue W x W x H are 4,877 mm x 1,989 mm x 1,643 mm. In addition, the Honda Prologue has a wheelbase of 3,094 mm.

The Honda CR-V is much more compact with dimensions W x W x H, 4,694 mm x 1,864 mm x 1,681 mm. While the wheelbase of the Honda CR-V reaches 2,700 mm.

According to Honda, the car, which will be launched in 2024, will be in the same place as Honda’s other SUV, the Honda Passport. It can even be said that the Honda Prologue is an electric version of the Honda Passport which in the United States is used as the most luxurious and most expensive SUV from Honda.

In an official statement, Honda said the design of the Honda Prologue SUV took a clean and simple Neo-Rugged design direction. But broadly speaking, it is almost similar to the new Honda HR-V and Honda CR-V.

In the interior, Honda chose not to install the largest screen that can be found on the dashboard. Instead, there’s only an 11.3-inch touchscreen, although the thick bezels and the inclusion of an easy-to-use volume button take up quite a bit of horizontal space.

Beneath the infotainment touchscreen are thin air vents followed by multiple buttons and dials for controlling the climate system. The latter may seem archaic in a world where automakers are integrating such controls into touchscreens.

For now, Honda does not provide technical specifications for the Honda Prologue. It’s just that in the mirror of the Chevrolet Blazer EV, it is predicted that the Honda Prologue will be offered with a single electric motor mounted in front (FWD) or rear (RWD). The third ppsi is a dual motor configuration for All Wheel Drive (AWD).

For power, the Honda Prologue is expected to have a power of 557 horsepower and 879 Nm of torque. The electric SUV is estimated to be able to cover a distance of 515 kilometers when the battery is fully charged.
