Honda has confirmed that their upcoming electric crossover, the Honda Prologue, will come equipped with Google built-in technology. While this announcement may not come as a surprise, considering Acura’s integration of Google in their ZDX model, what sets the Prologue apart is that Google built-in will be a standard feature rather than limited to a specific trim level.
The integration of Google built-in in the Prologue means that drivers will enjoy a seamless and user-friendly experience on the vehicle’s 11.3-inch infotainment system. With Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play all built-in, users will have easy access to third-party apps and navigation information.
One particularly useful feature is Google Maps’ optimized route planning for recharging and locating charging stations along the way, aiming to minimize travel time. Moreover, it can estimate the required charging time to reach a destination and even initiate battery preconditioning when approaching a DC fast charging station.
In addition to Google built-in, the Prologue will also offer wireless Apple CarPlay, an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless smartphone charger, an optional head-up display, and a premium 12-speaker Bose audio system.
Although Honda revealed the Prologue last October, eager customers will still have to wait a few more months, as pre-orders for this General Motors-based electric vehicle are set to begin in the fall. The Prologue is expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2024, signaling Honda’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle lineup and embracing advanced technology for a more enhanced driving experience.
