HEVO, a company specializing in wireless charging technology, has announced a partnership with Stellantis, a leading automotive manufacturer. Under the agreement, Stellantis plans to integrate HEVOâs wireless charging technology into its electric vehicles (EVs).
As part of the collaboration, HEVO and Stellantis are currently demonstrating Level 2 wireless charging on a Chrysler Pacifica PHEV at Stellantis’ office complex in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The demonstration is expected to be completed in 2023, after which the companies plan to move on to a 50kW fast wireless charging project.

If successful, this project will allow HEVO to offer wireless charging to Stellantis customers, with a focus on cost competitiveness with traditional plug-in charging methods as production volumes increase.
Wireless charging technology offers a more convenient and safer way to charge EVs, eliminating the challenges associated with managing cords. HEVO’s technology has won awards and is highly efficient, with up to a 95% efficiency rate from the grid to the battery. It also meets the wireless charging standards established by SAE and UL.
While wireless charging technology is not yet widely adopted, it is already being used in logistics and transit fleets, as well as to assist disabled drivers who require accessible and ADA-compliant charging solutions.
