The Zeekr 001 electric car itself is a development of last year’s Lynk & Co Zero concept. Then by Geely produced under a new brand and placed as a pure electric car to compete with Tesla.

This car was originally considered a coupe model with a stocky body because it has quite large dimensions. It is 4,970 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,560 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 3,005 mm. This makes the cabin practically very spacious.

Zeerk 001 is built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), with a larger SEA1 platform for D to F segment vehicles. This can be seen from its fairly large body size.

Design-wise, the 001 is almost a copy of the Zero that features Lynk & Co. For example, split LED headlights with vertical Daytime Running Lamp (DRL). Then the headlights use matrix technology and the grille is fully stretched at the front which forms a more futuristic face.

The side is also quite sporty with firm lines on the body with curves that make it more muscular. While the full line of taillights flanking the Zeekr emblem makes it support its cool look. At first glance, the silhouette of the Zeekr 001 body resembles the Porsche Panamera

001 is equipped with many advanced features. For example, a door with a sensor that can recognize the owner so that it can open and close automatically when the owner approaches.

The interior gets a low-profile dashboard with a flat leather steering wheel. The same material is also used to cover the center console. It also has a 15.4-inch touch screen for entertainment and an 8.8-inch full LED instrument cluster screen.

Zeekr 001 comes with the new Zeekr OS technology which combines Mate Artificial Intelligence (IA) voice control and facial recognition system. Thus, the car can recognize the facial structure of the driver or owner and apply the previously recorded car settings.

It also has a Yamaha 11-speaker surround sound system and a 14.7-inch head-up screen that will indulge passengers in listening to music.

Zeerk 001 is also equipped with front and rear seats wrapped in Nappa Alcantara leather that can be adjusted according to needs and also has the option of a massage function. The cabin is quite accommodating, which can accommodate up to 2,144 liters of goods by folding the rear seats.

For safety, the 001 is equipped with seven cameras on the exterior and a wave radar sensor to activate a series of driver assistance systems. This car is equipped with an autonomous emergency braking system, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane centering assist, blind spot monitoring to a door opening warning.

This car is more comfortable with double wishbones suspension at the front and adjustable multilink at the rear. Air suspension is available as standard on the 100 kWh AWD models and is capable of adjusting the ride height between 117-205 mm. The suspension of this model, allows the 001 to be ridden on various terrains, with the help of off-road, snow and sand driving modes.

Zeerk buyers can choose from several powertrain configurations. The first to use an electric motor with a power of 200 kW or the equivalent of 272 PS and 384 Nm of torque. The rear-wheel drive version is claimed to go from zero to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

While the all-wheel drive model uses a 400 kW electric motor that produces 544 PS of power and 768 Nm of torque to send power to go from zero to 100 km / h in just 3.8 seconds. Zeekr claims its AWD car is capable of driving more than 200 km/h.

In addition, there are also two battery options offered, namely 86 kWh and 100 kWh. Surprisingly, the former is only available on the AWD model which gives a range of 526 km on the New European Drive Cycle (NEDC). The larger package provides a cruising range of 606 km for the AWD type, and can cover a distance of 712 km when installed on a two-wheel drive model.

In terms of charging, the 001 only receives up to 7 kW of AC power for home charging. Nonetheless, it also supports DC fast charging at speeds of up to 360 kW thanks to its 400 volt battery technology. Zeekr claims that in just five minutes of charging, the battery is capable of being used again as far as 120 km.
