U.S. electric vehicle startup Harbinger has introduced a new medium-duty work truck called the HC Series Cab, expanding its lineup of commercial vehicles as the company seeks to broaden its presence in the fleet market.
The Los Angeles-based company said the HC Series Cab will be offered in both fully electric and hybrid versions. The hybrid variant is designed to deliver a driving range of up to 500 miles. The truck platform is intended for commercial fleet use and features a tight turning radius, easier cab entry and exit, and the ability to accommodate different chassis configurations such as cargo boxes or flatbeds. Harbinger did not disclose pricing for the vehicle.
“For too long, fleets have had to compromise between payload, maneuverability, range and onboard capability,” said John Harris, co-founder and chief executive of Harbinger. “We engineered this platform to outperform legacy diesel options while unlocking new advantages through electrification and our range-extended hybrid system to enable real work in the field.”
Founded in 2022, Harbinger has rapidly expanded its operations over the past year. The company raised $100 million in a Series B funding round in January 2025, followed by a $160 million Series C round in November. Its larger electric truck chassis has already attracted customers including FedEx and recreational vehicle manufacturer THOR Industries.
Beyond vehicle development, Harbinger has begun branching into other businesses linked to its core technologies. In January, the company launched energy storage products and secured Airstream as its first customer. The startup also expanded its capabilities in autonomous technology through the acquisition of Phantom AI in February.
