A leading South Korean tire company, Hankook Tire, has been selected as the original tire supplier (OEM) for the electric BMW i4 Gran Coupé with its ultra-high-performance Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 (UHP) tires.
The Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 tire is designed by combining reinforced sidewalls with high-strength bead cores to provide sporty, dynamic driving performance and precise steering.
Jeongho Park, Executive Vice President and Director of OE Division at Hankook Tire revealed that calibrating tires for vehicles like the BMW i4 is considered very complicated.

“We significantly expanded our research in this area a few years ago and these efforts are now bearing fruit. By supplying the product for the BMW i4, we are strengthening our presence in the electric sports car sector, which I am delighted with,” said Jeongho Park.
In addition, with a very light casing and special aramid composite material in some areas of the belt, these tires also have a positive effect on driving stability even at very high speeds.
The tread compound on the Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 tire has also been specially made from a high performance natural resin which further ensures the required grip and excellent traction and braking performance.

Ventus S1 evo 3 tires will come in various sizes in 18 inches and 19 inches wide. In addition, the manufacturer also provides a 19-inch runflat option and an 18-inch all-position option.
The dimensions of the Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 tire are 245/45R18 (VA), 255/45R18 (HA), 245/40R19 (VA), 255/40R19 (HA), 245/40R19 (VA) HRS, 255/40R19 (HA) HRS and 245/45R18 (all-position tire).
