A new electric car manufacturer named Günsel has recently emerged from the northern part of Cyprus. The company has been working on a compact electric car since 2016, and it is now ready for series production.
The Günsel B9 is a two-door compact model that boasts 140 kW of power and a 52.6 kWh battery integrated into the vehicle floor. The car has a range of up to 350 kilometres, and its top speed is electronically limited to 150 km/h.
Although the B9 was presented as a prototype a few years ago, the latest images show a left-hand drive car with a touchscreen located at the centre console level. This new electric vehicle can accelerate from zero to 100 kph in 7.7 seconds, and its battery can be charged up to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes. However, the carmaker has yet to reveal the price or schedule for its market launch.
Günsel’s plans for the future include a five-door crossover named J9, which is an all-electric model with an 85-kWh battery and a range of up to 500 kilometres. However, the manufacturer has not released any further details on this model.
Günsel’s emergence in the electric car industry is a welcome development, particularly for those who are looking for alternative vehicles that offer both performance and sustainability. With the promising specifications of the B9 and the upcoming J9, Günsel is set to make a name for itself in the EV market. It will be interesting to see how this new carmaker fares in the coming years and whether it can carve out a niche in the competitive electric car industry.
