Geely’s Galaxy E5 Electric SUV Reaches 100,000 Units Produced

Geely has announced that its Galaxy E5 electric SUV has achieved a production milestone, with the 100,000th unit rolling off the assembly line in China. The Galaxy E5 was launched on August 3, 2024, and has seen rapid sales growth since its debut.

In its first 20 days on the market, the Galaxy E5 delivered over 10,000 units. By day 45, deliveries had reached 20,000 units, and by day 67, the figure rose to 30,000 units. The SUV surpassed 50,000 units delivered by day 100 and reached 60,000 units by day 119.

The Galaxy E5 is available in five trims, with prices ranging from 109,800 to 145,800 yuan (approximately $15,300 to $20,300 USD). It offers two battery configurations: a 49.52 kWh battery providing a CLTC range of 440 km and a 60.22 kWh battery offering a range of 530 km. The vehicle is powered by a 160 kW electric motor, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

The SUV features Geely’s Aegis short-blade lithium iron phosphate battery and the Flyme Auto infotainment system. It measures 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The interior offers 4.03 square meters of space and includes 33 storage compartments.

Geely has also introduced the Galaxy E5 to international markets under the name Geely EX5, with its debut in Thailand at the Thai Motor Expo in November 2024. The company plans to offer the EX5 in countries including Norway, Australia, and Indonesia.

The rapid production and delivery milestones of the Galaxy E5 underscore Geely’s growing presence in the electric vehicle market.
