Urban electric cars are becoming more and more common in China. So that the competition in this segment is increasingly fierce. The latest is the Geely Panda Mini, launched to compete with the Wuling Mini EV.
Geely Panda Mini is offered in a choice of pink and light blue colors. The rounded look and large LED headlamps dominate. Ear-shaped mirrors, tricycle hub design, and black plastic trim on the front and rear bumpers.
Meanwhile, the “Geome” emblem on the front may refer to Geometry, which is a sub-brand of Geely.
The interior has room for four passengers, who have access to views of the sky, thanks to the panoramic sunroof. The pink dashboard features a large infotainment touchscreen, an elongated digital instrument cluster, multiple storage compartments and a dedicated area for climate control under the climate vent.
Launching on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, Geely Panda Mini has a length of 3.065mm, width 1.522mm and height 1.600mm, with a wheelbase of 2.015mm.
Geely Panda Mini is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor that produces 40 hp. The lithium-iron-phosphate battery, sourced from Guoxuan High-Tech, is claimed to offer a range of around 150 km.
Reportedly, the Geely Panda Mini will launch in China sometime in 2023. Pricing hasn’t been announced but is rumored to be in the range of 40,000 to 50,000 Yuan ($5,700 – $7,200).
