Geely, China’s largest automotive company, recently launched its first electric pickup truck, the RD6 or Radar Auto.

The RD6 is built using the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform dedicated to electric vehicles, but with an exterior design that is heavily borrowed from the Geely Haoyue model.

The SEA platform was launched in December 2020, and can be used for cars from the A segment to the larger D and E segments, even light commercial vehicles.

So far, the specifications of the electric pickup truck have not been revealed by Geely, but according to local media reports, Radar Auto will offer up to two electric motor configurations, with two battery pack options capable of an operating range of 600 km (CLTC data).

Carrying almost the same size as the Ford Ranger, the Radar Auto RD6 has unique features such as a front trunk, and a rear cargo bed equipped with an additional power slot in that section.

In fact, the official photos provided also show the RD6 as a lifestyle vehicle that can be used on the beach. Production of the RD6 will begin in the fourth quarter of this year, and the selling price will be announced later.
