GAC Trumpchi has commenced pre-sales of its Trumpchi ES9 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) SUV in the Chinese market. The eagerly awaited vehicle will be available in four distinct models, featuring pre-sale prices spanning from 229,800 to 269,800 yuan, which equates to approximately $32,200 to $37,700 USD.
The Trumpchi ES9 showcases versatility with two unique design styles. The urban SUV variant boasts a striking large grille with waterfall-style black trim strips, and headlights that form a seamless connection. In contrast, the hardcore off-road style exhibits a rugged front-end design and features a square tool bag at the rear, catering to different aesthetic preferences.
Inside the vehicle, passengers will find a state-of-the-art 14.6-inch scroll-thin screen along with a 12.3-inch fully laminated LCD instrument panel. Notably, the Trumpchi ES9 comes equipped with the next-generation ADiGO 4.0 smart driving interconnection ecosystem, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. This system supports over-the-air (OTA) online upgrades and T-Box remote control functions, enhancing the vehicle’s connectivity and convenience.
Under the hood, the Trumpchi ES9 is driven by GAC’s self-developed 2.0T hybrid special engine, GMC400 hybrid special gearbox, and a PHEV special power battery. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivers a robust 140 kilowatts of maximum power and a peak torque of 330 Nm. The vehicle’s 25.57 kWh power battery pack incorporates advanced high-power and high-energy new material system lithium batteries, providing an impressive WLTC pure electric cruising range of over 100 kilometers. Additionally, the Trumpchi ES9 boasts a fuel consumption rate of 6.05 liters per 100 kilometers and a comprehensive WLTC cruising range of 1032 kilometers.
