GAC Toyota, the joint venture between Toyota and GAC Group, opened pre-orders for its bZ7 electric sedan on Friday as the 2025 Guangzhou auto show began.
While the company did not disclose the pre-sales price, it said the model is positioned in the RMB 200,000 (USD 28,120) segment.

The bZ7 is developed primarily by Toyota’s China engineering team and is the second model to follow this approach after the bZ3X. The sedan incorporates Huawei’s HarmonySpace cockpit system and connects with Xiaomi’s smart ecosystem. It also includes Momenta’s advanced driver assistance technology, which supports Navigation on Autopilot for both urban and highway driving.
The model measures 5,130 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,020 mm. It uses a motor supplied by Huawei that produces 207 kW (278 horsepower) and enables a top speed of 180 km/h. Power is provided by lithium iron phosphate batteries from CALB, a major Chinese battery manufacturer.

The introduction of the bZ7 adds to recent efforts by Japanese automakers in China to expand their EV portfolios. Earlier this year, GAC Toyota launched the bZ3X with a starting price of RMB 109,800, positioning it as Toyota’s first pure-electric SUV priced below RMB 100,000. The model recorded more than 10,000 orders within its first hour of availability.
