GAC has brought its Aion brand and Aion UT compact electric hatchback to Denmark and Norway, with Sulland Group’s importer Electric Way handling sales in both markets. The expansion gives GAC a presence in two of Europe’s highly electrified car markets.

Danish and Norwegian journalists attended the joint launch in Copenhagen on September 17, 2026, which included a short drive of the Aion UT. Pricing and dealer details will be announced separately for each market.

Aion UT Offers Up to 430 km of WLTP Range

Designed in Milan, the Aion UT measures 4,270 mm in length and has a 2,750 mm wheelbase. The compact electric hatchback provides 440 litres of boot capacity, increasing to 1,600 litres with the rear seats folded.

GAC quotes a maximum range of 430 km under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). The Aion UT has also received a five-star rating from Euro NCAP.

Equipment includes a heat pump, a 14.6-inch touchscreen and adaptive cruise control.

GAC Holds Public Test Drives in Austria

GAC also hosted a two-day public test-drive event in Austria on September 18 and 19 at Atelier 7121 and Nils am See. The event featured the Aion V and Aion UT and was open to members of the public, media representatives and fleet buyers.

Prospective retailers were also invited to the event, as GAC continues to develop its dealer network in Austria, where it assembles vehicles.

European Operations

GAC manages its European operations from Amsterdam, while parts logistics are based in Rotterdam. The launches in Denmark and Norway, together with the Austrian activities, form part of the automaker’s broader expansion of its European operations.
