Ford Transit, America’s No. 1 best-selling commercial van, marks its 10th year of U.S. production and sales with updates to the E-Transit range and new integrated solutions aimed at easing the transition to electric and maximizing benefits for commercial customers.

“We’ve assembled more than 1.2 million Transit vans in the last 10 years, and 99% of Transit vans are still on the road, working hard for customers today,” said Tim Baughman, Ford Pro general manager.

Ford has continuously invested in new variants and innovations, including optional all-wheel drive, the introduction of the E-Transit electric van in 2022, and the Transit Trail™ van life derivative in 2022.

Enhancing Range to Reach More Industries

E-Transit has become the electric van of choice in America, Canada, and Europe, thanks to its versatility. It has saved customers more than 3 million gallons of gas and over 25 million kg of CO2 output since joining the Transit family in 2022.

For the 2024 model year, Ford Pro enhances the E-Transit range, offering an overall estimated range of 159 miles on low-roof cargo van models with 89 kWh of usable energy, a 26% increase over the previous model on low-roof configurations.

The new dual onboard chargers enable the E-Transit battery to charge faster than ever, with a peak power of 176 kW. The 2024 E-Transit can charge from zero to 100% in just six hours and 11 minutes when using the Ford Pro Series 2 80A charging station.

The E-Transit is available in more configurations than any other all-electric commercial van from a full-line automaker, offering two lengths, three roof heights, three body styles, and up to 487 cubic feet of cargo volume.

New Charging Solutions and Integrated Software

Ford Pro offers a complete range of charging systems, including public, home, hybrid, and depot charging, with 927 commercial charging depots under management. Ford Pro’s software helps manage charging across multi-make fleets and depot, home, and public charging to maximize uptime and minimize charging costs.

A new-generation Series 2 48A charger will feature replaceable cables, a new LCD screen, and cellular connectivity with no Wi-Fi required, available for order in mid-2024.

In-vehicle technology within E-Transit connects seamlessly to Ford Pro Intelligence software like Ford Pro E-Telematics, helping businesses optimize vehicle performance, manage multi-make and -powertrain fleets, and maximize uptime.
