Ford Pro has announced the availability of the latest version of its commercial electric vehicle (EV), the E-Transit, offering up to 32% more range and faster charge times.

The 2024 E-Transit is equipped with a larger 89 kWh battery, up from 67 kWh, providing an estimated range of up to 159 miles. This increased range opens up new use cases, such as refrigerated delivery, according to Ford.

The upgraded E-Transit also features dual onboard chargers, delivering a 22% faster charge time when using Ford Pro’s 80A Series 2 charger and charging software. This allows the vehicle to be fully charged from zero in just over six hours when using Level 2 charging, making it ideal for overnight charging.

Improvements in DC charging have also been made, with the E-Transit now capable of 176 kW charging, up from 115 kW. This enhancement allows the 2024 E-Transit to gain 67 miles of range in just 15 minutes when connected to a suitable quick charger, representing a 49% improvement over the previous model.

All new E-Transit models will come equipped with Ford’s new NACS adapter in addition to its CCS port. The E-Transit is available in two lengths, three roof heights, three body styles, and offers up to 487 cubic feet of cargo volume.

The 2024 E-Transit comes with a starting price of $51,095, which is $1,100 more than the 2023 base price. However, customers can benefit from a $7,500 federal EV tax credit, bringing the price down to $43,595, excluding possible state and utility incentives. Orders for the Ford E-Transit can be placed through Ford dealerships.
