Ford CEO Jim Farley said Ford would build a second electric truck after the F-150 Lightning. This was said by Jim Farley during the start of the regular production of the F-150 Lightning.

The F-150 Lightning is a full-size electric pickup truck and the third EV in Ford’s entire EV portfolio after the Mustang Mach E and the commercial E-Transit van.

Farley did not provide further details about the second electric pickup truck in question. But says that it will be built at BlueOval City’s $5.6 billion production facility in Stanton, Tennessee.

The production facility in western Tennessee will begin producing EV batteries and the next-generation electric F-Series pickup in 2025. Given that the F-150 is a full-size truck, it is likely that the second model to be produced will be a mid-size version.

Ford has more than doubled its planned annual production of the F-150 Lightning to 150,000 vehicles by 2023.

Ford aims to sell 600,000 EVs worldwide by the end of 2023 and more than 2 million annually by 2026.

In the commercial vehicle market, Ford has confirmed that it will launch a new generation of full-electric vans on May 9.
