Fisker has announced a strategic partnership with ChargePoint, a leading North American electric vehicle (EV) charging network, to support the charging needs of Fisker Ocean drivers. This collaboration will provide Fisker Ocean owners with access to over 400,000 charging ports, including 16,700 fast chargers. With this partnership, Fisker drivers will be able to locate and access the ChargePoint network of managed and charging partner stations more easily.
The Fisker Ocean is the flagship EV produced by the second iteration of Fisker. The limited edition One trim is already sold out, and the company is continuing to ramp up production overseas to meet the growing demand for this long-anticipated SUV.

The collaboration with ChargePoint will give Fisker drivers access to over 210,000 active charging ports managed directly by ChargePoint, as well as over 400,000 roaming ports with partners. ChargePoint’s roaming chargers, combined with its nearly 17,000 DC fast chargers, equate to over 80% of the public charging locations in North America.
Fisker Ocean owners will be able to use the SUV’s navigation system to locate ChargePoint and roaming partner stations. They can also use the ChargePoint app to filter for DC fast chargers and plan their route to their desired charger, all while receiving calculated arrival times. The goal is to provide Fisker drivers with convenient, easy-to-locate public charging stations, a quick, easy experience when using a public charger, and super-simple payment options.

Unlike some other automotive partnerships with charging networks, there does not appear to be any complimentary charging on the ChargePoint network included in a Fisker Ocean purchase, just streamlined access to its charger search tool. However, the ChargePoint network will be ready when Fisker Ocean deliveries begin in North America.
