Faurecia has won a major contract from Hyvia to supply hydrogen tanks to be used in the production model of the Renault Master H2-Tech.
The hydrogen tanks will be produced at the Faurecia plant in Allenjoie, France which can make more than 100,000 tanks per year. Faurecia and Hyvia have not disclosed details regarding Hyvia’s order including size, value and time of order.
Faurecia itself announced a 213 million euro grant from the EU earlier this month. The funding underscores its role as a key player in France’s hydrogen ecosystem.
The Renaut Master H2-Tech as a prototype was first introduced a year ago. Master H2-Tech’s technical specifications for mass production correspond to a prototype with a 33-kWh battery and 30-kW fuel cell.
The Renaut Master H2-Tech will use four Faurecia hydrogen tanks with an electric motor having an output of 57 kW.
Charging the Renaut Master H2-Tech Hydrogen takes five minutes and will provide a range of up to 400 kilometers.
